FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Why should I use this when I've been using plywood for years?
A. Plywood is a cheap method of overboarding which can lead to ongoing issues at a later date. For example, any water seepage at all and plywood will expand loosening tiles. In severe cases it will rot. No More Ply would be unaffected by this and will remain stable. No More Ply is a premium product with many other benefits including easy cutting, fast laying and 'Dot and Dab' wall fixing to name just three. It also has British Board of Aggrements certification.

Q. I've had a scare this year with Asian plywood smelling heavily of formaldehyde glue. Does No More Ply vary in quality or have any such issues?
A. Absolutely not. No More Ply is man made and the first sheet will be exactly the same as the last. This is why professionals choose No More Ply - it is highly stable, easy to work and has a consistant, and reliable quality.

Q. I've heard about this board on the web but it's more expensive than ply isn't it?
A. This is a commen misconception. Sheet for sheet, No More Ply IS a little more expensive on the face of it but hold on... take into account first that there is little wastage and it is exceptionally quick to work and cut. This means less time on the job and in real terms will work out more efficient (assuming that the time saved increases your potential for profit in the job).

Q. Does the price vary like plywood?
A. Not by any great amount, maybe a marginal price change due to outside influences like the economy. On the other hand plywood relies on timber which has risen steeply in cost during 2008 - up to 20% rises in some cases for 6mm Birch ply. You are also at the mercy of foreign currency changes with plywood as much of it comes from Asia and Canada.

Q. Does the board raise the floor level significantly?
A. Not on 6mm No More Ply and in fact this is a strength of the product which can be used with our ultra slim Kaskade shower base system in order to provide the best foundation for a modern stepless wetroom or bathroom floor.

Q. Is the board just for timber floors?
A. No More Ply provides very rigid and stable surface in many applications. In can be laid on concrete or timber floors and directly to brick or plaster walls for example. We have a range of our own label industrial strength adhesives and sealers which provide for the best possible application. You can find more information in our fitting guide here.

Q. Does the board have any other useful applications?
A. Primarily, No More Ply is an overboarding product to be used for leveling surfaces prior to tiling, but due to its heat resistance it is also the ideal choice for underfloor heating applications - it will not shrink or expand. No More Ply is a good insulator with sound deadening properties so it has an added advantage as a wall board in flats and apartments. Note, if insulation is your primary concern we would recommend a Premium Insulation Board as an alternative, please ring for more information

Q. There must be a catch! Do I need any special tools or chemicals to lay or prime the board?
A. No. We work with tradesmen everyday and from the outset we wanted a simple, easy to use product and not something which complicated life even more. We have a range of own brand support products including sealers/primers, adhesives, jointing tape and cutting knives which we recommend for a good finish because they are matched to the board composition.

Q. Can I get the board easily and quickly?
A. This is a premium trade product so you wont find it in the local DIY giant, but it can be found in most good tile outlets throughout the country. If you are having any problems sourcing No More Ply just give us a call on our helpline 0800 009 4354. We'll do our best to help.
